Althiegleere are at the end of another year nothing so far as we are aware is yet known to the public regarding the result of the Cummittee's investigation and we begin to suspect that nothing ever will be known. [...] Had the collections been properly made and not allowed to fall into arrears there would have been a small surplus." It is a pity that the collections fell into arrears but the explanation given by the Commissioners I. as follows :—" The debt and deficit of the preceding year—the retarded collections owing to an unfortunate change in the form of rate bills which threw bank the writing of the b [...] He considers that " the time has now come when the miraculous element (with the reservation tion of some of the works of healing and of some visible manifestations of the spiritual resurrection of the Saviour) may be regarded as doubtful or unhistorical without any prejudiceto the worship of Christ." Bow then it may be asked did the miraculous element find its way into the Gospel narrative?
