[...] When the brilliant flame of the glory of Gujarat lighted by the Solanki kings at Anhilavada Patan was extinguished by the Muslim conquerors and when the last of the Sonlanki-Vaghela King Karna was crushed by Allaudin Khilji and when the forts the city the temples and the monuments of Patan were ruthlessly demolished the Solankis sank into insignificance.
