DIALECTS OF THE AREA AND THEIR GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION : A close study of the specimens thus collected revealed the existence of the following dialects : (i) Santalpuri or the dialect spoken by the people of Santalpur proper and as far as Varahi in the east and Jajham in the north.
