The one I publish now is the biggest one and belongs to the time of Harihara II of Vijayanagara.1 Description of the Viragal. [...] The inscription has twelve lines four of which are between the second and the third carvings the following live between the third and the fourth and the remaining three between the fourth and the fifth. [...] The record is of the time of king Harihara maharäjädhirdja rajparamegvara destroyer of hostile kings champion over kings who break their word ". The date of the inscription has disclosed that the king referred to cannot but be Harihara II and this identification is confirmed by the above birudas.2 For Harihara II was the first king of Vijayanagara who assumed imperial titles. [...] In a Goa copper-plate he is referred to as the lord of the east south and west of India '.8 In a Vijayanagara Jaina inscription he is supposed to have reached the highest point of prowess and profundity the only abode of valour '.9 And in the Lingampadu copper-plate of DEva Rdya II he is mentioned as a monarch who wore great glory as a necklace who verily traversed the fourteen worlds with the [...] 181."5 4. illa/larrasa.-He was the son of one Heggapa.1 He was already minister in the time of Bukka I Harihara Raya (II) being the crown-prince.2 In 1399 during the reign of Harihara II he is called the great minister.3 5. Mangafipa DarfOyak r. He is called great minister and his adminstration is mentioned in an inscription of the year 1391.4 In the year 1398 he is still called ' the great
