The report mentions that because of starting of the Satyagraha movement by the Congress some of the members and agents were arrested others remained in a state of supense about the attitude of the Government towards constructive work and this as a result put a check on the growth of the activities of the Association. [...] The choice of adoption of the latter of the two methods—the method of co–opertive enterprise and self–help--was prompted by the factors governing conditions at present and also because the same is consistent with the growth of the genius of this country. [...] From the dawn of history self-sufficiency of workers has been the guiding rule in the development of the communities and in the growth of the institutions the world over and as such should not be different in this country. [...] The first thing that is needed is that the conviction should be created in thc minds of the officers of Government of different provinces and of the States and of the general public concerned in agriculture that the economic salvation of agricultural India depends largely on the adoption of the "Mixed Farming" system under which the peasant will carry on ordinary cultivation and will at the same [...] Yet like the flashing of a shield an unmistakable ray of joy shines in the heart 18"FOLK SONGS OF RAJBUTANA of the sad bride as her girl-friends compare the bridegroom to the moon of the sky after the time-honoured tradition of marriage-songs.
