5 TUBERCULOSIS IN ANIMALS ONE of the most impoitant items on the agenda of the Animal Husbandry Wing of the Board of Agriculture which met in Delhi in November 1942 was the subject of tuberculosis in the domestic animals and the Committee which investigated it with the help of the Special Officer appointed two years ago by the Imperial Council of Agricultural Research for the study of this disea [...] The Pattagar believes that the feeding of the pods improves the coat and the milk yield of the animals. [...] The rearing of the fish in the fields is said to improve the produce of the paddy since the fish destroy many insects injurious to the plant. [...] Improved crops As the fish move about in the paddy fields the plants are shaken and some of the injurious insects drop to the surface of the water and are devoured by fishes. [...] The main points that require attention in the cultivation of the kitchen garden are the following : (1) The layout of the garden ; (2) The choice of the vegetables to grow ; (3) Sowing of the plots ; (4) Seeds ; (ti) Water-supply and man tire.
