The Vedanta Kesari February 1939

1939

They are only meant o show that the Impersonal and the Pe onal Brahman and the Divine Mo one and the same that the Supreme Being is a synthesis beyond the oppsitions of change and changelessness personality and impersonality that in the Divine change does not mean oliteration of the original being nor changelessness mere static immobility. [...] Hence in spite of the full and unqualified amission of the Absolute and uncoditioned consciousness the Personal God or the Divine Mother the Power of the Absolute acquires a position of unique importance in the Master's system of thought. [...] It seldom occurs to us that the unit of the human individual might he only one of a long list of units each of which would he a multiple of the one preceding it and have as its own multiple the one following it; or in other words to take a more concrete comparison might be like the day which in time scale of units stands above the hour the minute the second &c. [...] If now we turn to what we might call the multiples" of man we see that each individual human being is one of the elements which constitute larger units such as the family the nation the profession the caste the social "classe" the race the religious community &c. [...] When Maeterlinck studied the bees the ants and the white ants he was irresistibly led to suppose the exisence of what he called the spirit of the hive'' or the "spirit of the anhill'' which our scientific instruments have not enabled us to perceive with our senses.
