Here he adapts very skilfully the law that Darwin has applied to animals the law of indirect selection or the survival of the fittest to the system of the Universe. [...] He gallantly attacked in the journals the promoters of Vivisection but was not slow to open the eyes and condemn the fanatics in Occultism and the nosense of some of the Spiritists.
