The most striking confirmation of this interprettion is found in the greatest Chinese classic of modern times namely San Min Chu I or the Three Principles of the People—being the exposition of the principles of Nationalism Democracy and the People's Livelihood by the great Sun Yat Sen. [...] It points to the fact that Communism cannot tolerate the existence even of the most peaceful or neutral country in the world so long as it becomes part of the sphere in which it is to its strategic interest to obtain control nor will it stop short of putting forward any claim however tenuous in furtherance of the object of iposing the Communism in any area. [...] There is hardly any indication that the policies of the Bank are handled with the large imagination which is necessary to fulfil the object of increasing production both in war devastated countries and in the lesser developed areas of the world. [...] Ceylon bcame a member of the World Bank and the Fund on the 30th of last month with a quota of $15 millions in each; and while the subscriptions to the Bank will be paid in the usual manner it has apparently been agreed that five per cent of the quota in the case of the Fund will be paid in gold and U. S. dollars and the rest in Ceylon rupees or non-negotiable bonds. [...] The Report merely warns against the improbability of Pakistan being able to force the pace and stresses both the importance of its agricutural exports for sustaining any improvement in the standards of life and the value of traditional contacts.
