The Asavabahu letter regarded the Chinese as the "Jews of the East" pointing out at the same time the only difference that the Chinese had a homeland to which they were drawing away the wealth they helped to create. [...] The immediate reaction of the Governments of the countries of S. E. Asia to these provisions has not been to display alarm but to establish a "modus vivendi" for the settlement of any disputed matter with the Chnese Government by negotiation and the act of reconition of the Peking Government by these couti-ies is nothing but an integral part of this policy. [...] Over the last thirty years George Bernard Shaw has been the greatest instrment of education in the thought of our times by reson of the fact that he was securely installed among the intellectuals of a country which played so large a part in the stage of the world. [...] A. This week was election week in the United States and partly because the issues in dispute were confued and confounded by the production of the Hanley letter—in the accepted tradition of conducting an eletion—the patient student of politics will still fail to dicover the differences in principle between the Demcrats and the Republicans between the G.O. [...] The temptation to declare divdends on shares to the maximum permissible limit should be curbed and rebates paid to member-puchasers which he said was the key to the popularity of the movement in the U. K. If these reforms are not carried out the development of the movement in Bombay State from 425 societies with a membership of 1.32 lakhs in 1946 to 1.048 societies with a membeship of
