A correct appreciation of the religious system of the present time is not possible without a clear knowledge and sympathetic study of the main principles of its evolution and a full appreciation of the symbolism and the imagination behind the rites and rituals of current Hinduism. [...] As in ancient Rome the current religion of the people has ceased to attract the homage and attachment of the individuals and a peculiar situation has arjsen in which the religious system fails to satisfy the persons beloning to the faith. [...] The incalculable damage has'been done to the prestige q n(I the ecconornic life of the British not by the the exhibition of criminal film so much as the damage done to the British trade in India by introducing foreign materials intead of helping the growth of manufacturing factories of raw film materials here. [...] There the poor of the street has a clothing to cover their body up against sun cold and draught —there they have a cot to sleep in—but what is there in the red life of Indians to cover up the nudity and taste the joy of life ? What is there in India to save the unemployed from starvation as that of the dole of the Government of the foreign countries ? What arrangement the goverment has made to [...] The ideals of exploiting the primitive people instead of helping in their growth create bitterness and the damage to the prestige of the Europeans and it is in the exploitation of the wealthy subject that the masters can make their reign firm and rigid.
