The reason if one is to be sought of this disappointing result is the lack in prmoters and financiers of a sound knowledge of men and things in the idustrial world of the nature of business dealings in general and the technical and other needs and possibilities of the industries to be financed and promoted. [...] And must it be said that it is a strong ground that it is an objection to which no satisfactory reply has yet been vouchsafed by the advocates of the award ? Then again while the importance of a community say for example the Europeans forms the basis of the representation allotted to them the principle is not followed in the case of the Hindus. [...] British can be measured in terms of thousands of supreme sacrifices how has the award treated them ? Is there any wonder that with the blunt directness of the fighter as contrasted 'with the suave reasonableness of the politician they have told the British Government that they shall not abide by the terms of the communal settlement made by the British Premier. [...] What an irony that a favourite of Fortune should harbour such ideals at a time when Marxism holds the world in a grip because of the meanness and the selfishness of the idle rich !
