All that Sir John Simon has done has been to give the proposed Joint-committee of the Legislative Assembly and the Council of State some high sounding appelltions with not even a shadow of the real thing ; and the mere pretence made so much of by the British Press in England and the Anglo-Indian Press in India of acceptance of the principle urged by even the most moderate of the Indian opinio [...] * Religious Worship in Schools and Colleges:— Without entering into any consideration of the different versions of the breach between the authorities of the City College and the boarders of the Ram Mohan Roy Hostel over the holding by the latter of the Saraswati Pujah within the hostel we expected that the authorities would see their way to tactfully end the matter by ceasing to take disciplinary [...] In making their recomendations as to the measures against the evils of prostitution the members of the Special Body make it clear that the persons who must really be struck if the trade of prostitution is to be minimised are not the prostitutes so much as the Runners' of the show. [...] That which is regarded as truth by the Buddhists is the same truth of the Mahommedans the truth of the Christians of the Hindus and of the Jews. [...] The God of the Jews again is the God of the Christians and also of the Mahommedans and of the Hindus and of the Buddhists.
