Social evil The following is the text of the letter addressed by the Secretaries of the Bombay Presidency Social Reform Association to the Government of Bombay on the question of reducing' the evil of prostitution in the City—We are desired by the Council of the Bombay Presidency Social Reform Association to invite the attention of the Government to the growing traffic in women that is being carr [...] A glance at the way in which Bhagavana Krishna develops the theory of the three paths—at the terseness and precision of method which carefully ditinguishes between the qualifications each requires in its adherent—will convince the discriminating student that the eligibility of a person's path of spiritual development is not a matter in which there is much scope for the exercise of personal choi [...] In one case it is the sudden and momentary flash of intuition ; in another it is the still small whisper of his Self which follows him everywhere into the bustle of daily life into the vortex of noisy gaiety into the calm meditation in the silence of the night ; in a third it is revealed in a dream of which the vividness makes an ineffaceable impression on his mind ; in yet another it is reveal [...] It is perfectly true that in the majority of cases the automatic action of karma prdisposes the aspirant's mind to the adoption of the path that is in harmony with the stage of evolution he has reached. [...] When shakti has been copletely purified from the taint of desire of attachment to the fruits of karma it reaches an unusually high level of development and functions in a form of which the liberated potentialities are adapted to build the jnana deha the highest of the three bodies wherein final liberation from the bonds of existence is obtained.
