6.—The first instalment Of a new treatise on the law of Alluviort and Diluvion will be cordially welcomed by the profession The leared and exhaustive work of Mr. [...] Lal Mohan Doss has gone out of date with the lapse of time and though a brilliant piece of work it requires to be recast in the light of recent expositions of the law on the subject. [...] The work purports to be an extended commentary on the Bengal Alluvion and Diluvion Regultion but is in reality a comprehensive treatise by itself which might take its stand irrespective of the fragmentary statutory provisions on the subject. [...] The most interesting part of the work is that devoted to the rules of Hindu and Mahomedan Law on the subject which shows that our jurist had a firm grasp of the fundamental principles of this topic. [...] ITe has made a fair attempt to improve the commentaries by making theM applicable to the new Act of r9o8 and introducing necessary additions and alterations in view of the recent decisions.
