THE arrangements that have just been made says the Search Light by the Director of Public Instruction in collaboration with the Sanitary Commisioner for the regular medcal inspection of the pupils of the High Schools in the Province of Bihar and Orissa and for imparting instruction in the principles of Hygiene will be welcomed by all who recognise the great improvement in the standard of [...] Away from the scramble of the world the teacher pursues his noble work in the quiet seclusion of his class-room in the midst of happy bright innocent children of whom is the Kingdom of Heaven sharing their joys and sorrowos enjoying their trust and confdence and often learning divine wisdom " out of the mouths of babes and sucklings." His is the opportunity of retaining the freshness of you [...] The home and the school are the two chief inteests in the life of the child and without coperation between the two the interests of the child are boundto suffer. [...] It is to the agency of intelligent parental care to the purifying and elevating of all that constitutes home life to the exercise of cordial parental co operation in the school training that the teacher must look to provide the soil and the sunshine so that the moral and the intellectual seeds they sow may germinate and grow." It is the teacher's duty to interest the parents in his work and i [...] "He is the ambassador from the large to the little common-wealth"— linking the two interpreting the purposes and ideals of the one to the other and planting the community spirit of the former into the latter.
