WE would draw the attention of our readerS.to the letter appearing at the end of these notes regarding the holding of the Matriculation Examination at the different Calcutta Colleges. [...] It was one of the grandest achievements in the intellectual spheres by which the love of the ancient world was thrown open to the people of the present day. [...] AT a meeting of the Senate to be held in the Sir Cowasji Jehangir Hall of the University on Saturday the 26th instant immediately after the conclusion of the business of the adjourned meeting fixed for that day consideration will be given to the following proposition which will be moved by Sir I. G. [...] will move as recommended by the Syndicate— That the College which the Shikshana Prasarak Mandali Poona proposes to start he affiliated to the University provisionally in the Faculty of Arts up to the standard of the First Year's Course and the Intermediate Examination in Arts for a period of five years commencing from the loth June 19t6 subject to the conditions specified in the Report [...] The following is the resolution of the Building Committee of the Senate dated the 7th February 1916 That the plans specifications and estimates prepared.
