Pacquemont in the course of his description of the Asiatic Society has some sarcastic remarks:] Ram Mohan who undoubtedly is the most learned of the natives and the most respectable of the Brahmins and who has ceased to be an idolater in order to be a philosopher was not a member of the Asiatic Society of Calcutta.
