Unless the pers pective is widened there is the danger of deception which is all the more serious because of the self-complacency of the deceived. [...] However half of the total number of his plays have survived the test of time and havsecured for Moliere the reputation of being the most delicious 'comic writer of the world. [...] a keen business sense rarely associated with the artists both knew the art of managing the varied temperaments they met in the coutifei of their theatrical careers ; both were actors and authors ; both' showed the same passion for the art they exercised the same devotion' to their fellow-workers the same fertility in their dramatic creations - the same disregard of mere bookish learning and the [...] The language of the exquisites is beautifully represented in this play ; for them the footman is a requisite " the looking-glass is " a copanion of graces " the chair is a " commodity_ of conversation." Moliere destroyed the fashion in one single afternoon. [...] Much of the sucess that has been achieved is due to the very keen interest shown by the Students' Council in the management and organisation of college activities—even to the extent of providing foods for the improvement of facilities when it has not been possible for the authorities to sanction the expenditure involved.
