In the original estimates for the current year the provision for Defence Services and the Frontier Force had amounted to 1749 per cent of the total expenditure of the Government of Burma debitable to revenue. [...] The Register is to be made up every Monday and the average value of the contracts registered in it during the preceding week will be adopted by the Customs Inspectors as the figure which is to be deducted from the basic standard price in order to determine the tax chargeable upon all contracts registered during the ensuing week. [...] IV No 2. The General Tariff is applicable to goods entering French Indo-China from the firitish Dominions Crown Colonies and Dependecies with the exception of the undermentioned goods from the Dominions and Colonies detailed in the Customs Tariff for 1940 to which the Minimum Tariff is applicable. [...] 600 and shall be payable upon the declaration of the exporter to the Inspector-General of Mines and Industry who shall have confidetial access to the text of every contract for the export of tin. [...] Responsihility for levying both taxes is vested in the InspectoGeneral of Mines and Industry together with the Directors of Finance and of Customs who are severally answerable for the execution of the decree.
