In three of the experiments the urine of the normalW. [...] urine compared with that of the normal kidney urine is as 1 : 1.3 ; in Series 2 in which the gut and liver are included in the circulation and the diuretic is therefore more dispersed the arterial blood therefore is less strong (A) compared with the renal afferent vein blood (AP) than in the last Exp. [...] relative to that of the renal afferent vein blood (AP) and the urine strengths are despite the inclusion of the liver and gut in the circulation again as 1 : 13 ; in Series 4 sodium sulphate (no nitrogen) was the diuretic and one leg was excluded from the circulation (i.e. [...] „ „ „ ] Thus the other results being normal the ligatured kidney urine of this experiment is slightly weaker in chloride as well as in nitrogen when compared with the urine of the normal kidney. [...] „ ' „ „ ] The results of this experiment are therefore remarkable in that the urine of the ligatured kidney is stronger both in nitrogen and chloride and less in amount compared with that of the normal.
