The ruled glass slide can be readily removed from the Bakelite holder by loosening of the metallic clamp and withdrawal of the protecting slide although this is not necessary either for the cleaning of the ruled glass slide or for the identification of the ruling. [...] The trench separating the rulings on the double slide is carried entirely across the slide and for this reason and because of its greater width obviates the frequent flooding of the chamber by the introduction of an excess of solution from the pipette. [...] The surfaces bearing the rulings project beyond the area covered by the cover glass to the edge of the slide proper thus facilitating the introduction of the diluted blood from the tip of the pipette. [...] The benefit of this drug in asthma and other lung diseases is due to the combined effect of the alkaloid which depresses the terminations of the vagi and relieves spasm of bronchial muscles aided by the expectorant action of the essential oil which helps to liquefy the tenacious sputum and clears the air passages. [...] The object of the investigation was two-fold : first to study the parasites of these cats from the standpoint of the cats themselves and to afford a basis for comparison with the parasites of the same host in other localities ; and second to ascertain to what extent the cat serves as a reservoir in Bengal for human helminthic parasites.
