[...] Those that were eating the same amount of food in the autumn as in the spring had the same family compostion on the two occasions ; the number of the consumption units of the family was the same. [...] The families in the present investigation were divided into three economic groups : well-to-do ' middle class ' and poor '. The grouping has been based on income on casto on the occupation of the chief breadwinner on the number of persons in the family at the time of the investigation and on the houses land and cattle owned.
