P the sum to be thus recovered will be included all arrears due; Hi) to all private subscribers residing out of India In the event of non-pavment by them by the end of the year for which their subscription holds good of all sums aue by them [...] Object of the Investigation The primary object of the investigation was to determine how far the natural control exercised by the parasites of the teak defolators in plantations with an abundant undegrowth of beneficial plants differed from the parasitism in plantations with a scanty growth of these plants. [...] Selection of the Areas The ideal would have been to have in the same locality two isolated areas of teak of the same ages one pure and the other with an abundant undergrowth of the desired species. [...] (ii) The specific parasites had a good share in the control at the culmination of the epdemic in June. but disappeared entirely from the scene with the rapid decline of the pest in July and gaYe place to the polyphagous Tachinid Starmia inconspicuella which was the only species recorded from puera in July and August. [...] In the young crops thinings are mechanical with the aid of a thinning stick the aim being to thin the crops to an average spacing the multiple of which will give the ideal ultimate spacing of the crop at the final felling.
