With a vote of thanks to the chair the meeting came to a close at 5 P. M. * * The Prize-giving ceremony of the Hare School took place on the gth February last in the School compound under theEDITORIAL NOTES 99 Presidency of Mr. [...] The tvdience were entertained with songs and a series of choicest recitations which were highly appreciated by the gentlemen preseri The proteedings came to a close with the usual vote of thanks to the chair and the singing of the National Anthem. [...] The treatment he received at the hands of his countrymen from the day when he came to their notice cast a slur upon the character of the nation to which he unfortunately belonged. [...] I wa„s the more excited to 'hear of the land of the Ooriyas with its traditions of antiquity of the wonderful temples at Puri Bhubaneswar and Kanare and the stories that have grown in connection with them. [...] The guard blew his whistle the train started and"ON THE WAY TO PURI 105 amidst shouts of Good-Night" and "Good.b.ye" we plunged into the darkness softened only by the gentle rays of the half-moon.
