The Hare School Magazine Autumn Number 1929

1929

We shall not have to look back far into the past to know that the boys of the Hare School collected money and clothes from door to door and carried heavy loads on their head in the sun without the least grumble to help the poor sufferers whom the ravage of a similar flood made homeless and destitute. [...] After the meeting was over the students and the teachers went in a body to garland the statue of the reverend Pandit in the College Square. [...] All the boys and teachers of the School assembled in a meeting and paid tribute of honour to the memory of the late David Hare the Founder of the School. [...] One of these is the charm of poetry and the other the delight of friendship." "Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart" says the Bible "And so does the sweetness of a friend's loving voice." There is probably some truth in the complaint that modern civilisation is not quite favourable to the growth of deep or lasting friendship. [...] The brilliant features of the Taz the fine decorations on the walls the exquisite lustre on the screen works captivate the attention of the visitors.
