We had hardly time to recover from the loss sustained in the death of the Secretary and Founder when another befell on the 14tir October in the death of an old and trusted Prmjabi teacher Shrimati Khem Kaur who always tooa keen interest in the advancement of woman'education had great influence with the mothers of the olnl iren and was a picture of physical strength. [...] It is however worthy of note and a matter of congratulation to Indians in general and to the lovers of the art in particular that with the present ntional awakening the value of music has begun to be recognised ; largely thanks to the efforts of Pandit Vishnu Pigambar. [...] The standard of the Asiatic races raised conspicuously high by Japan backed and actuated by a most glowing and fervent sense of patriotism in her people displayed in the stress of the Russo-Japanese war coupled with the unmistakable signs of the dawn of national self-consciousness in other races of the Orient has not been void of instruction to the world and has given a very necessary stimulu [...] We welcome the new life the national awakening and the spirit of self-help and selsacrifice which are at work in India full of hope and the promise of a bright future ! The inauguration of the Behar! Students' Conference in Behar is one manifestation of the same national spirit among the future leaders patriots and workers of the country. [...] This is a resolution which deserves the most careful attention of the student-community The industrial regeneration of the country is a vain dream unless educated men enter the iudutrial field and utilize scientific discoveries and improvements in reviving the old and dying industries and improving the material rsources of the country.
