The Ripon College Magazine. January 1933

1933

It was however discovered and brought at once to the notice of the Executive Committee of the Shield Competition that an outsider that is to say a person not belonging to the Bangabashi college had been allowed to play in the Bangabashi team—absolutely in violation of the rules of the Competition. [...] Due enquiry though rather belated was made into the matter and the Executive Committee came to the conclusion that an outsider had been brought in to play in the Bangabashi team ; but opined that in view of the great delay that had happened in the clearing up of the matter nothing could be done now for re-opening the question of the award of the Shield. [...] Since the morrow of the dark Mutiny matters moved very fast —the Queen's 0-oclamtion the beneficent Viceroyalty of Lord Ripon the Freedom of the Press and its occasional lapses the birth of the Indian National Congress the unwise administration of Lord Curzon. [...] All the proceedings in the League of Nations are published in French and English —French for Europe and English for the majority of the members of the League. [...] A thing that interests students in the beginning of the study of Chemistry is the 'Analysis of Salts' and the occurrence of several colours of beautiful precipitates during the process.
