With the dawn of the present century a visit to the southern coast of Mediterranean has become a popular feature of the tourists' itinerary ; and at the present moment Tunisia is in the foreground of everybody's attention The culture of Tunisia goes back to the days of its occupation by the Phoenicians ; and the rise and fall of their famous settlement at Carthage almost occupying the area of mode [...] VII THE AGE OF THE CORSAIRS--PIRACY RAMPANT The tradition is that the first great pirate chiefs of Tunisia were the Brothers — harbarossa Uruj and Kheyr-ed-din — who were the " last as well as the least creditable of the gifts of Lesbos to the world. [...] The outcome of the present struggle in the eventual victory of Britain America and the Free French will it is hoped ease the violence of the reaction and pave the way for a continuity of improvment in the life of Barbary.
