His exposition of the doctrine of the Geeta analysis of the character of the hero of the Mahabharat synthesis of cultures in Dharmatattwa etc. [...] Drifting on the quiet green water in the fragrance of summer flowers under the soft willows through sunshine and shadows that flitted across the lanscape life seemed an unbodied spirit just a pure sensation of joy which found expression in the gay colours of the world in the caressing warmth of 'the gentle breeze in the music of the birds and the ringing laughter from the passing boats. [...] The provisions of the Act were left vague and obscure as to the juridiction of the Supreme Court and also as to the relation between the Court and the Government. [...] The Judges of the Supreme Court would at times take on themselves the duty of cross-examination of the witnesses at the trial ; and unless they would differ and countecharge the jury one of them as the president and organ of the Court would take a special share in the proceeing and perform the task of summing up. [...] The suspendatur per collurn endorsement would be made on the back of the indictment by the Counsel for the prosecution or the Clerk of the Crown immediately after the verdict; but the Calendars which were the only warrants for execution in Calcutta would be signed by the Judges sometimes after the trial.
