" The decision of the Government to forego excise duty on the quantity of sugar to be exported and the announcment of the U. P. Government to refund cane cess do not seem to have made the price atractive in the external market. [...] Saha was awarded a Noel Deerr Gold Medal at the last convocation of the Institute for his new invention of the new technique for the clarification of sugarcane juice by the sulphitation method and was earlier the recepient from the Jodhpur Government of a cash reward of Rs. [...] The Government of the U. S. A. will provide 10.650 000 dollars for the project constituting the dollar part of the expenditure out of the promised 50 million dollars under the 1indo-U. [...] SUGAR FACTORIES VIS-A-VIS NEW ZONES The above in brief gives the history of the origin of the constituent units of the new integrated railways as well as the areas served by them.
