The united waters bond to the westward162 from the city or town of Aror the A1dor—of others] in the middle of the territory of Sind and are received into the Nahr-i-Mihràn or Mihràn River which flows slowly through the midst of the country and forms a number of islands [i. [...] 171 This appears to refer to the southern parts of the great elevated plateaus extending from a few miles east of the Indus to the high loft bunk of the Bitib and through which the rivers forming the Panj lib or Punch Nad now out their way and which from what is known as the Owl or Inif-iVitint►o west of the Oltinab. [...] 17t It is stated in the Tirikh of klifig AbrO which is a comparatively modern work but held in great estimation and completed about 829 H. (1425 A. D.) that " The source of the river Sind is on the skirts of the mountains of ICash-rnir [north of] and runs from the western sido of those mountains into the territory of Mastiriyah its coarse being from north to south and near the end of its [...] The Wells is a largo river which rises on the east side of the mountains of lath-mir flows through the territory of Luhtiwar [Lihor] and from thence to tfejichb and falls into the ocean in the coutry of Kavnbiyah." Tho ohroniclor no doubt meant the tract adjacent to Sorach or Saurightra between it and Sind the river separating the two tracts of country ; and he referred to the Hakr6 or [...] 365) states that " Tho Askalanda Asal-kaede and Askalanalra of the Chach-nama is the same as the Askaland and Askaland-Uita„ [leaving oat of course all reference to the 'Arab letters in the word] of the ifujnialu-t Tatedrikh and tho Askandara and.Askaada of the Tuhfatu-I Ifirdm.
