(c) To introduce visitors at the Ordinary General Meetings and to the grounds and public rooms of the Society during the hours they are open to members. [...] This species is distinguished from its nearest relations B. aristata B. floribunda and B. coriaria by the very sulcato stems and the compound of subpaniculate inflorescence; the later character links it to B. chitira and the former to B. sikkmensis; the former of these two differs in its red stems and the latter in its ubellate inflorescence and both in having pubescent stems. [...] Of all these B. ceratphylla and B. silckimensis alone have the under surface of the leaves at first grey and pruihoso a character which is permanent in B. micrantha. [...] B. aristata B. floribunda B. coriaria) with the lack of the style characteristic of Subsect Umbellatae. [...] For the above descriptions I acknowledge my indebtedness for facilities for examining herbarium specimens given to me by the authorities of The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew (whence are all the specimens not otherwise noted) the British Museum and the Fielding Herbarium of the University of Oxford department of Botany.
