As is the deer always restive and afraid of falling a prey to tigers so is the woman of Bengal always restive with the apprehesion of falling in the hands of the debauch and her chastity to be defiled thereby. [...] In consideration of the nationai importance of the industry the interest of the investors and the prospect of rods being manufactured in India the prtection was allowed to continue but no further protection was recommended. [...] On the recommendations of the Tariff Board the Government of India with the concurrence of the Legislature decided to drop the protection with effect from the 1st April 1928. [...] With this prospect before us should not the Government of the country come to a definite decision regarding the raisings of the metallurgical coal which is of so importance to the iron and steel Industries of India It is high time for the Government of India to go into the matter more fully and carefully. [...] V. Kuibishev head of the State Planning Commission of Russia said : In the coming year we propose to concentrate on 'light' industry--that is the production of cosumers' goods for the benefit of the populace rather than as heretofore devoting the greater part of our energy to 'heavy' industry or production of the means of production".
