I explained that the Movement's aim to make the boy into a useful healthy happy citizen lay through the key-activities of character—training handicrafts service for others and the promotion of physical health and I concluded with a few words upon the psychology of boyhood and the importance of the scoutmaster's personal example. [...] Detach the dried leaf from the blotting paper and lace it on a leaf of the Album taking care to see that a good third of the page is left free at the bottom for noting the particulars of that leaf and with a pointed brush allow a few tiny drops of good gum to settle between sundry points of the leaf and stalk and the page of the Album and allow to dry. [...] The Headmaster of the Local High School then read the annual report on the working of the Association and the Troop. [...] In fact the organisation of the display and the very efficient work of the Patrol Leaders were' the things that were most noticeable about the whole show.. [...] But the trip to " Karla Caves" was fairly exhausting and the hill air was rather bracing and the sixty to seventy greedy mouths devoured most of the food in the night and began to grumble about the dreary prospect of semi-starvation that was before them during the next day.
