And as the supply of land is limited the Government is faced with the alternative of growing more food at the expense of jute and cotton or more jute and cotton at the expense of food. [...] With the inauguration of the Indian equivalent of the Lord President of the Council the Divine Trinity in the Cabinet will be coplete—the Creator the Detroyer and the Preserver. [...] The motive of course has been to apprpriate the old halo and pretige of the Congress for the consolidation of the new position. [...] So the greater the attempt to cash in on the VIGIL goodwill of the old Congress the more the new Congress lays itself open to charges of betraying ideals by inviting easy comparisons. [...] This is of course facilitated by the fact of the Congress being curently in power and therfore readily accountable but that only aggravates the mlady which is really rooted in the illegitimate attempt to put the new Party on the pedestal of the old national organisation.
