The government of British India with the exception of the Northwest Frontier Province is partly by legislative councils of whom many members are elected by that portion of the population which has the privilege of the franchise ; similar is the ease with the central government. [...] The award of the Nobel prize for literature to Tagore the recognition of the scientists Bose and Raman and of the philosopher Radhakrishnan have raised India in the eyes of the general public. [...] Its represetatives associated in the Peace Coference of Paris in 1919 in the drafting of the statute of the Permanent Court of International Justice in 1929 in the Conference on the Limitation of Armments and Pacific questions held in Washington in 1922 and in the Confeence of the Codification of International Law held in Hague in 1930. [...] The whole structure of the temple is on the plan of the South Indian gopura and besides like many of the kind in Camboja it is built on the top of pyramids consisting of a number of storeys one leading up to another by a flight of steps. [...] Especially in view of the fact that some of the temples in this plateau were dedicated to the Ptindava brothers (compare the roccut temples in honour of the Pfindavas at Mahabalipuram) on the style and pattern of the Pallavas of South India it seems more plausible that these temples belong to the Pallava style rather than the Chalukyan.
