As a matter of fact during the first three centuries of the Hegira agnosticism philosophy and science could make no headway against Islam owing to the proximity of the period of Prophethood and the Caliphate but during the next thousand years the Muslim camp forgot the use of weapons supplied to it for defence and attack and the enemy became naturally bolder.
