SECTION TIIIRTIETII In the pre-Christian centuries the dynamic power of both Brahmaical and Buddhistic civilisations in the island of Ceylon as well as in the mainland had shown itself as we have seen in our last article of this series in the institution of hospitals and despensaries for the relief of the sick and the infirm.
