The educated portion of the Indian community have hitherto been absorbed in the ways of Government service and of the several professions and other avenues of employment opened out by the Governmen-c. [...] But before doing so it is necessary to apprise the public of the part which one of the workers who is most in the background in this connection has been playing in the development of the Technical side of the College. [...] Under his able direction and constant supervision -supported by the indefatigable energies of the Engineer of the Section and his assistants the Manufactural Section of the Technical Department of the College has been making very rapid and most encouraging progress. [...] The first Division of the subject a goodly portion of which we have already discussed— the Division namely under which falls the subject of Indian Hospitals.art7 Dispensaries and indeed every other Ptoviszon for the Relief of the sick and the infirm (both men and beasts) has already furnished us with a most fascinating picture of India a itYwutthristian influences in the past. [...] They go to show that the abounding spiritual life of India overflowed the natural boUndaries of the land in the past spreading itself far and wide and invading and transforming the lives of other peoples Much in the same way as the exuberant life of the materialistic West overcoming all barriers is forcing her way abroad and planting her standard on distant lands.
