The new approach to the solution to the impertinent bread problem against their exclusive service to the instittions has failed especially to satisfy the normal demands of the famished pedagogues and has recoiled and relapsed - into the mess of the antiyiatecl barrenness of ideology that has habitually measured the wants of the wretched teachers in terms of the pre-war price schedule honouring [...] So the aims of school handwork can be stated as follows:— (i) To train the eye to accuracy and rapidity in observation and the hand to skill in executl on (2) To develop the inventive powers of the mind (3) To inculcate a sense of importance of truthfulness in work (4) To cultivate habits of neatness of orderly arrangement of accracy in measurement and of attention to small details (s) Pr [...] of literature and art the capacity of applying ideals to life situations the skill of hand and eye in aesthetic and constructive workmanship the scientific attitude also bodily health and grace the civic sense and the spirit of co-operation and service." The committee was of opinion that Education at this stage must fit the students for the vocations and occupations which are open to them. [...] The Scheme of reorganisation of Secondary Education suggested by the Committee demanded a coperinkan change in the attitude towards high school education" on the part of all concerned—L the pupil guardian the teacher the manager the Public opinion and the State. [...] The change in the attitude lies in -the shifting of attention from subjects and examination to the development of the pupil according to his abilities capacities and needs and to the creation of a new society which will answer to country's cherished ideals." The Scheme sugested the following definition of the aim of Secondary education :— "It should aim at providing the youth between the ages
