For these commentators having set forth with the purpose of explaining the work of Gauclapäda all the contents of the work are in the absence of express mention to the contrary to be attributed by them to Gautlapiida and to none else. [...] The internal evidence of the text therefore assigns it to a period between the first quarter of the 13th and the first quarter of the 14th century. [...] The next two sections deal with gets and Ois while the somewhat detailed treatment of the figures both of words and sense is set apart for the last two chapters adhering in general to Ruyyaka's Alarhkara work WITThis brief description of the contents of *tile work will suffice in proving the modelling of the text upon the celebrated work of Mammata so much so that sometimes the different W4fr [...] Conclusion This is a short connected history of the extant Alanikara works written less for the edification of the uninitiated but more for the glorification of the respective patrons of the 'writers. [...] It is really the slackening interest of the later kings towards the Sanskrit Literature and consequently the withdrawal of their valuable patronage from the deserving poets of the day which is we believe responsible for the later decay and the gradual discontnuation of the composition of such beautiful and interesting works in the subsequent centuries.
