Organisation of the Agrzeultural Department in Sind 1936-37.—With the creation and filling up of the two posts of Deputy Directors of Agriculture one for the Right Bank and the other for the Left Bank in addition to the post of Divisional Superintendent of Agriculture the district propaganda work was greatly intensified and the activities of the Department were greatly extend [...] A considerable portion of this increase is due to the realization of departmental dues and sale of produce of the last year and may also be ascribed to the full5 development of the ' Six Farm Scheme '. With the° increased utilization of the facilities for purchase of implements manufactured at the workshop and ginning of cotton at Government Ginnery now made available to the public in the Agricult [...] The abolition of the March closure will now permit lands to be irrigated for cotton sowings early in the season AN ithout interruption and will contribute immensely towards the removal of the difficulty of early sowings of American types of cotton and to the desire of cultivators to complete all cotton sowings by end of May. [...] 9. Summary of main features of the work of the Department during the year.—There has been a considerable increase in the activities of the Agricultural Department in Sind particularly in the extension and propaganda service on account of the appointment of Deputy Directors of Agriculture the reorganization of the district demonstration work and introduction of new methods of publicity viz. [...] The detailed prgramme of future expansion and development of the Agricultural Department in Sind during the next five-year period has been framed and embodied in the publication entitled Summary of the work of the Agricultural Department in Sind and a Five-year Programme of Development.
