In addition to the above coinage for the Government of India the following coinage was executed at the Bomlay Mint during the year on b( half of the Ceylon Government and the public :— Denomination of coin. [...] Silver dros.ses.—Difficulties were experienced in applying the chemical process for reeovering' silver from drosses referred to in paragraph 10 of the last year's review the main difficulty consisting in the presence Of lead in the dross owing to the admixture with the ordinary drosses of dross from flue cupelling furnaces. [...] Owing tr the almost total cessation of coinage during the year the temporary establishments in several departments of the Mints IA ere very largely reduced towards the end of the year. [...] The nickel coinage executed for the Government of India during the year under review consisted of 5 397 351 four-anna coins to the value of Rs. [...] The melting of cupro-nickel carried out during the year comprised scissel only part of which was obtained from the above coinage and the remainder from the coinage of previous years.
