Annual Report on the Survey and Major Settlement Operation in Bihar and Orissa for the year ending the 30th September 1936

—During the year under report the Commissioner of the Bhagalpur Division submitted to Government the proof of the Final Report on the revision survey and settlement operations in the district of Santal Pareanas. [...] The records of Bhagalpur district except for the area covered by the last survey and settlement operations of the Kosi Diara in the Supaul and Madhipura Subdivisions are also becoming out of date especially in the riparian area due to the ravages of the Kosi and the Ganges rivers. [...] Miscellaneous.—The Superintendent of Land Records corrected the record-of-rights in two cases and communicated the orders to the Revenue Inspector for noting in the village papers the Deputy Commissioner's permision for the cultivation of certain communal lands in the beds of the rivers Mahanadi and rb during the year. [...] Maintenance of the boundary between this province and Nepal.—The work done during the year for the maintenance of the boundary between Nepal and the districts of Champaran Darbhanga Bhagalpur and Purnea in this province was as follows :— On the boundary of the district of Champaran 38 sal posts were embedded in place of those which were found missing.
