Annual Report on the Work of the Department of Land Records and Surveys Bihar and Orissa for the year ending the 30th September 1935

1936

17-5/9 dated the 25th November 1935 to the Chief Secretary a proposal of the Commissioner of Orissa for the deputation of the Boundary Commissioner for five days to inspect the relaying of the boundary stones in accordance with his decision. [...] 9. Paragraph 50.—Maintenance of boundary marks.—The progress noticed in the reports for the last two years in the matter of inspection and restoration of boundary marks was maintained though the work in the North Bihar districts was hampered owing to the preoccupation of the officers with the work made necessary by the earthquake and floods. [...] The tract lying to the east of the Subarnarekha was found on the whole to be easier country than that to the west of the river. [...] Preservation of forest in Dhalbhum.—At the beginning of the present operations it became obvious that denudation was proceeding fast and seemed already to be affecting the climate of the subdivision and the fertility of the cultivated area. [...] The services of both the Revenue Inspectors and the Patwaris were utilized in the revision of the electoral rolls for the Indian Legislative Assembly.
