Report on Smoke Nuisances and their Abatement in Calcutta

An Act to amend the law relating to the abatement of nuisances arising from the smoke of furnaces or fire places in the town and suburbs of Calcutta and in Howrah and to provide for the extension thereof to other areas in Bengal. (b) prescribe the powers and duties to be exercised and perfoimed by the Commission and by - Inspectors respectively and regulate the exercise and performance of these powers and duties; (c) prescribe a scale for the purpose of determining the [...] Rules.—Rules have been drafted to regulate the transaction of business by the Commission to prescribe a scale for the purpose of determining the density of smoke to prescribe the powers and duties to be performed by the Commission and by Inspectors respectively also for the carrying out of the said powers and duties.
