[...] The Inspector-General of Police remarks that the civil +.2.bedience movement reinforced by the economic situation has swept away in a wave of crime against property the progress of ten years in the struggle *against the criminal. [...] In several instances letters of thanks were accompanied by the offer of rewards in 2 cases donations were sent to the Police Relief Fund for the benefit of widows and orphans and in another case a substantial sum was offered in token of what had been done to improve the morale of the police and the relations between the public and police.
