During the year under report the proposals of the Government of India on the recommendations of the Excise Committee were given effect to as far as possible The main innovation was a general reduction in the number of liquor shops which was effected in consultation with a local committee consisting of representative non-official gentlemen of the Civil and Military Station. [...] did the preliminary work of the revision of assessment under Part IV under the immediate supervision of the Collector. [...] The following notifications were issued by the Municipal Commission of the Civil and Military Station of Bangalore and confirmed by the Resident in Mysore :— Revising the rates of taxation in respect of motor cars and motor cycles and directing that the revised rates shall come into force from the 1st April 1909. [...] behaviour thirteen persons were discharged and one was in the custody of the Police at the close of the year. [...] Magi4erial Courts Including the cases actually pending at the close of the previous year 4 874 cases were brought to trial in the Courts of the Magistrates during the year under report.
