5. The Government of India have approved the following rules relating to the terms of appointment and condition of service of honorary Indian Aides-de-Camp on the personal staff of the Lieuttill n t-Governor :— (i) The Lieutenant-Governor is entitled to honorary Aides-dCamp up to a maximuln of three to be selected from Indian officers of the regular Army or Military Police on the retired li [...] The inception of operations the term of which will exceed one year and any portion of the cost of which will fall on Government requires the sanction of the Govern ment of India. [...] The Local Government have full powers subject to the rules of 1895 as to the number and duration of temporary appointments created for settlement work in any settlement commenced either under the orders of the Government of India or under those of the Local Governments themselves. [...] If an officer holding a settlement appointment already sanctioned by the Government of India is succeeded in it by another officer originally deputed to settlement work for less than six months under the orders of the Local Government the sanction of the Government of India is not required to the appointment of the latter to the sanctioned post although the total period of his employment in th [...] 254 dated 3rd September 1895 sanction is required to the crea‘tion of the office of a Settlement Officer which will carry the salary prescribed by rule and nut to the selection of the particular officer who is to fill the office thus created.
